God is Still a Miracle-Worker
Let’s get this straight: God is still in the miracle-working business.
He hasn’t changed. His power hasn’t weakened. His love hasn’t grown cold. Hebrews 13:8 says, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” So if He did miracles then — He can still do them now.
What is a Miracle?
A miracle is when God’s power breaks into our world and does something we can’t explain. He overrides the natural laws He Himself created. It’s like Heaven stepping in and saying, “Let me show you who I am.”
Miracles are like breadcrumbs in the wilderness — signs that help us find our way back to the source, to the One who satisfies our deepest needs. But listen, miracles are not the main event — they’re a signpost pointing to something greater: God’s presence and power in your life.
Max Lucado said it like this: “A miracle is not a violation of the laws of nature. It is a demonstration of the power that made the laws of nature.” In other words, God isn’t breaking the rules — He’s the One who wrote them. So if He steps in and changes something, He’s not violating His nature — He’s revealing it.
Why Would God Create Natural Laws… and Then Break Them? Great question. Let’s unpack this:
• He’s the Divine Designer: God made the laws of nature — gravity, time, biology, physics — all that. So just like a programmer can go in and change the code on an app, God can override the system any time He wants. Not to show off, but to show who’s really in control.
📖 Isaiah 45:7 (ESV) “I form light and create darkness, I make well-being and create calamity, I am the LORD, who does all these things.”
📖 Colossians 1:16–17 (NIV) “For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible… all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.”
Truth to Remember: Wherever there’s a natural law or a law of limitation, God can still intervene.
Sickness may be real — but healing is possible.
Lack may exist — but God still provides.
Closed doors may seem final — but He opens what no man can shut.
💡 Application: Reflect on an area in your life where you are seeking God’s intervention and write it down. Ask God to give you eyes to see His miracles around you and the faith to trust in His power.
🙏 Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for Your unchanging nature and unwavering power. Remind me daily that You are still in the business of doing miracles. Help me to recognize Your presence in my life and to have faith in Your ability to do the impossible. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
